036 – Week-long Fitness Challenge: Five & Thrive – Day 7

Can I get a woop woop?! We’re here…DAY 7 of my 5 & Thrive challenge and today is a combination of some of my favorite ever exericses. Think core, cardio, legs and more! How fun!

Well…my definition of fun, anyway!

5 minutes of glorious exercise. You have it in you, I know you do! So get to work and let’s finish super duper strong for this week-long challenge!

Here’s the workout:

What’s a cross drop, you ask?! Only one of my newest favorite moves to sprinkle into my workouts. Check out the video below for a quick how-to for all of the exercises listed for Day 7.

Alright, it’s time to finish strong! AND, if you’re really wanting to challenge yourself, string together all 7 days for a bombass 35-minute workout. To make it easy on you here are all the links for each day:

  • Day 1: Cardio
  • Day 2: Upper Body
  • Day 3: Box
  • Day 4: Lower Body
  • Day 5: Cardio
  • Day 6: Core
  • Day 7: Lindsay’s Favs

As always, there are a few ways for you to “enjoy” this mini workouts. You can listen to my podcast, Dig Deep with Dr. Lindsay Gee (Available on iTunes and Stitcher radio) by clicking the play button above. OR, you can save the graphic to your phone/tablet, set a times and get through the list of exercises as many times as possible.

You do this challenge however you want to today! 5 minutes? Great! 20 minutes (just string 4 days together)? Fabulous! The full 35 minutes? Woop! You do what you can handle today.

Just get it done!

035 – Week-long Fitness Challenge: Five & Thrive – Day 6

Second last day of our challenge and I sure hope you’re still with me! Remember…these are just 5-minute sessions, so schedule this important 5-minute meeting with yourself and get it done!

If you’re up for the challenge, you can string all of the workouts from Day 1 through 6 together and end up with a full-body 30-minute workout. Or, choose your favorite days and create your own workout duration and focus.

GAH! I just love exercise.

Anywho, Day 6 our focus is on your core. The key to good core exercises is to start each movement by engaging your transverse abdominals – those are the deep, deep, deep abdominal muscles. To do this, think about gently pulling your pelvic floor upwards and engaging the muscles on the inside of your right and left hip bones. This contraction should feel like a gentle tension and not contract so hard that your belly pops out.

Remember, there are multiple ways for you to get through this workout. We’re back to cardio for our 5th day of my Five & Thrive challenge, baby! Why? Because! Your little heart needs a good 5-minute blast of fun and joy. Ha! Are you having fun yet?!

I must say that my Fueled Lifers are killing this challenge! It’s really fun to watch you all complete the challenge and support one another. I adore it. If you’re not a part of Fueled Life – erm…do it!

Now…where were we? Oh yes…today’s 5-minute workout! Cardio, cardio, cardio. Gimme all you got for 5 minutes. Push so hard that at the end of 5 minutes you’re grateful it was only 5 minutes! Effort, effort, effort for this one today!

There are many modifications you can make to these exercises and I review a few on them in the how-to video below. Choose the level that works for your body and compare to no one else. Your body, your workout…you do you and what is best for yourself.

As always, you can string all the 5-minute workouts from days 1 through 5 together and have a bombass 25-minute full-body workout.

Welcome to a new day and a new challenge! We’re onto Day 4 of the Fueled Life’s 5 & Thrive Fitness Challenge! You guys are rockin’ it! I’m so stinkin’ proud of you all! YAY!

The focus on Day 4 is legs and oooooooh Mama…they’re gonna feel this one. In a good way!

You know the drill by now: either click the triangle above and hear the soothing sounds of my voice coaching you through the workout (hahaha!) or save the graphic below, set your timer for 5 minutes and get through the list of exercises as many times as possible.

Oh yeah…prisoner squats…those ones are suuuuuuper fun! I do love a challenging bodyweight exercise!

Be sure to watch the video below to ensure you know what each exercise is before you begin. Nothing worse than getting started on a workout only to realize you have no idea what you’re doing. Well…there are probably many things worse than than…but watch the video, regardless.

Time for you to rock your workout! Get to it!

Remember, you can create a fabulous 20-minute workout if you string together days 1 through 5: cardio, upper body, box and now lower body…it’s killer when put together! Let me know if you give it a try!

Day 2 of our 5 & Thrive Challenge and we’re hitting the upper body today! Woop! Sooooo many options on how to participate!

You can listen to the podcast HERE, just click the “Play” button above! You can also find my other podcast episodes under the “Podcast” tab on this site OR or iTunes or Stitcher radio.

You can also save the below graphic to your phone and get your workout done wherever you are. This workout needs some weights and/or tubing or bands….or milk jugs, cans, babies or hockey bags. LOL.

Here’s the workout:

Remember, if you’re not going to listen to the podcast, simply set a timer for 5 minutes and go through these 5 exercises as many times as possible. The key? Form, baby…don’t sacrifice your form for speed. Slow it down and ensure full range of motion. You’ll thank me later. Maybe.

And finally, if you don’t know what the heck these moves are, I’ve done a short video that demonstrates all of the exercises. See? No excuse not to get active today.

It’s 5 minutes, party people. Link it together with Five & Thrive Day 1’s Cardio workout and you’ve got a great 10-minute blast!
