Hot Mama’s IGNITE Program – Torch Level: Day 1

May 31, 2016 By Lindsay Gee

I’m not going to lie to you. I set today as my IGNITE – Torch start day and promptly regretted it when I woke this morning. I drove 14 hours yesterday, ate a TON of sugar, ate absolutely NOTHING healthy and didn’t sleep well last night. I have also been battling a sinus infection and a rotten cold.

But, when I commit to something, I stick to my guns. I put my workout clothes on, tied my red-headed afro into a top ponytail, got my kids to school, came home, went to the garage…and stared at my treadmill.

Just stared.

And stared. Excuse after excuse ran through my head. I’m sick. I’m tired. I should take a self care day. I should go sleep. My body is tired.

But…I had committed to my start day. So, I put on the Good Wife (the series I am currently running through, literally…see what I did there?!), looked at my workout…and GOT TO WORK.

It was the OHM’S Fav today. Oh yeah…it’s named after me, so I really truly do love this workout. Halfway through I found my breath. Halfway through I found my legs. I ended up doing the 22-minute workout at the highest incline and fastest pace I have ever done it at.

Yeah I did!

I had 30 minutes left in my allotted time to workout, so I got in the 24.5 minute Full Body Torch workout that is also a part of Torch Day 1.

I am feeling STRONG.

And hungry. No sugar on IGNITE and I’m definitely missing my sugar. But, I’ll drink a bunch of water, eat the magic fudge (recipe tomorrow if you’d like!) and commit to the next 28 days. Why? Because at the end of these 28 days I KNOW I’m going to feel fantastic, have more energy and will have increased my strength, endurance and cardio performance.

It’s worth it. It’s SOOOOOOO worth it.

Day 1 done. 27 to go. Thank God one is a cheat day! HA!
